About the Role
As a CMF designer (Contract), you will play a key role within the Studio team creating and executing compelling interior solutions that represent a new generation of electric RVs. You will collaborate closely with the design team and cross-functional teams on solutions that raise the bar in the industry while hitting near term timelines.
This is a contract role for 20-40 hours per week.
Preference for ability to work onsite in our studio in South San Francisco, CA.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on materials, sustainability, and manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate closely with the CMF lead and design team on solutions that support the brand vision.
- Develop and execute beautiful and functional interior color, material, and finish strategies.
- Communicate and present CMF concepts, ideas, and solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with cross-industry trends, technology advancements, and best practices in CMF design and sustainable materials industries.
- Contribute to a physical CMF library and digital database.
Qualifications
- 5-8 years of experience in the Outdoor industry, transportation, or blend of hard and softgoods.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- Strong visual and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge in manufacturing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Onsite/Hybrid Work
Hybrid roles at Lightship require onsite work from our offices Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Tuesdays and Fridays are optional work from home days, when your work will be executed more successfully from home. Speak to the hiring manager to learn more.
